Richard F. Corey is a degreed Engineer (BSIE – Rochester Institute of Technology), who began his Engineering career with Eastman Kodak Company enjoying numerous accomplishments in the development and manufacture of high volume consumer electronic products (cameras, projectors) and government / DOD type products. After five years as an Engineer, Mr. Corey was selected for a development assignment at Kodak's world headquarters to recruit engineering graduates nationwide. The success of this assignment resulted in his promotion to Manager of Professional Recruitment for Eastman Kodak, culminating with the hiring of over 1,000 professionals in one of the company’s peak years.
Mr. Corey resigned from Eastman Kodak in 1989, joining the professional and executive recruiting firm of Weterrings & Agnew, Inc., responsible for recruiting R&D Engineers, Scientists, and related Management. He became a Partner and Vice President of the firm in 1992. In 2003, Mr. Corey sold his partnership in Weterrings & Agnew, Inc. and formed OpticsProfessionals LLC, specializing in recruitment in the Optics Industry. Mr. Corey is the President and Owner of the company.
Mr. Corey is a member of the Rochester Regional Photonics Cluster, The Florida Photonics Cluster, The International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE), and the Optical Society of America (OSA.). He is also a member of NPA, The Worldwide Recruiting Network of which he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Corey has presented numerous seminars on recruitment, job search, and interviewing.
Anthony R Amarel began his career as a Nikon clinical and research instruments sales representative in eastern New York and western Vermont. In 1992 Mr. Amarel returned to Rochester, NY to manage worldwide marketing/sales of the educational microscope instrument line for Amarel Precision/Optem. In 1993 Mr. Amarel joined the Image Interpretation Systems Division where he was responsible for worldwide marketing/sales of Remote Sensing workstations. During this time he led the development and launch of an innovative remote sensing technology with the Digital Transfer Scope.
Mr. Amarel joined Burleigh Instruments in 2000 as the Northeast US and Canada RSM for the Optical Instruments Division product line. After Burleigh was acquired by EXFO, he became Product Line and Business Development Manager. During this time he led the development and launch of an innovative fiber sensing technology with the WA-5900.
Mr. Amarel joined Newport Rochester in 2005 to pursue an opportunity as Business Development Manager responsible for North America OEM new and existing account sales of optical components.
He resigned from Newport in 2008 and joined long-time friend and professional associate Richard Corey to assist in his thriving OpticsProfessionals recruiting business. Mr. Amarel brings his 25 years experience in the optics industry to OpticsProfessionals LLC.
Mr. Amarel is a member of SPIE, OSA, Rochester Regional Photonics Cluster, Florida Photonics Cluster and National Personnel Associates. Mr. Amarel has presented papers, posters and written technical articles for various optical journals and conferences.
