Richard F. Corey grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York and graduated in 1976 with a BS degree in Industrial Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He began his Engineering career with Eastman Kodak Company and enjoyed numerous accomplishments in the development and manufacture of high volume consumer electronic products (cameras, projectors) and government / DOD type products. In 1981, he was selected for a development assignment at Kodak's world headquarters to recruit engineering graduates nationwide. The success of this assignment led to other recruiting assignments for experienced technical people and Mr. Corey's career direction was set. He eventually became Manager of Professional Recruitment for Eastman Kodak, culminating with the hiring of over 1,000 professionals in one of the company’s peak years.

Mr. Corey resigned from Eastman Kodak in 1989, joining the professional and executive recruiting firm of Weterrings & Agnew, Inc., responsible for recruiting R&D Engineers, Scientists, and related Management. He became a Partner and Vice President of the firm in 1992. In January 2001, Mr. Corey highlighted the work he had done with high tech optics companies by forming OpticsProfessionals, a division of Weterrings & Agnew, Inc. The division specialized in the recruitment of professionals in the optics and photonics industries on a nationwide basis.

In January of 2003, Mr. Corey sold his partnership in Weterrings & Agnew, Inc. and purchased the OpticsProfessionals Division, forming OpticsProfessionals, LLC. Mr. Corey is the President and Owner of the company.

Mr. Corey is a member of the Rochester Regional Photonics Cluster, The International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE), and the Optical Society of America (OSA.). He is also a member of National Personnel Associates (a worldwide recruiting network), of which he also served as a member of the Board of Directors and Regional Director. Mr. Corey has presented numerous seminars on recruitment, job search, and interviewing.

Mr. Corey resides in upstate NY near Rochester.
